Hello evrybody! I'm new here and ... what a great site!:icon_razz

I will start by seeking advice from you who love reebok freestyles and princesses, especially if really well-worn or trashed. I love to wear female sneakers, also in public where it is possible (not at work for instance:icon_excl ).
I've some pairs of RFH and princess that I abitually wear:icon_cool .
I've recently got a pair of white RFH on e-bay, pretty worn-out ... and, as wearing them trashed it's a turn on for me, I’ve cut two small tears in the toes (in correspondence of the big toe on the right shoe and on the external side on the left one) ... so that now they are breathing and look even a bit more worn-out ... simply wonderful. For the moment I'm still wearing them laced-up and with the straps fastened, but I’m looking for some creative, unusual way to wear them extremely loose ... but not just with the laces loosened and the straps undone ... I'm rather thinking about seriously modifying them in order to make them no longer wearable totally laced-up (cutting the straps? cutting almost all the eyelets?) … but at the same time I would like that they remain still wearable, also in public. Any idea? Could you suggest me about how to customize them, making them extremely comfortable to wear in a hot summer? I will go on vacation some days in August and I'm planning to wear those RFH almost all time, really loose ... I was even fantasizing of modifying them radically by the end of the vacation, and make sandals out of them ... any idea?

Thanks very much for your replies! Any suggestion about how to modify them is welcome! Of course, I will post photos here!:icon_cool

I love RFH's and Princesses but don't like to see them trashed too much. Glad u like them though.

Hi there,

Good to hear from someone new who loves the classic Freestyles. I love seeing them worn out and trashed too, there have been a handful of cool sets in the past where they get trashed.

If I were you, I think I'd take some inspiration from some sneaker conversions we've seen on here in the past. Someone posted some pics of Keds or Vans (or somthing similar) in the past that had been modified. You could try cutting round the lace holes and the tongue stitching to turn them into dolly style shoes. Later in your trip you could then cut them down to low tops and ultimately slinbacked, peep toes.

I'm sure there are lots of things you could try, it sounds like you need to buy several pairs and experiment with them :icon_razz

It'd be great to see some pics of your trashed out Freestyles and whatever you decide to do to them!

Keep us posted.
Cheers

Hi WAMsneak, thanks for your suggestions! When you say to cut the leather around the lace holes and the tongue stitching, do you mean that I should eliminate all of the lace holes and also that the tongue should be ripped off :icon_excl (to the extent that I cut the stitching around the tongue ... the latter would be free to be removed ... actually removing the tongue is one of my favourite way to modify sneakers!)? If I understood well, the shoes would then be tied on feet only through the ankle straps, isnt' it? Interesting ... it sounds really cool :icon_cool ... Just a question: How could I wear them really loose, if I have to keep one or both the sraps fastened (after having eliminated all the lace holes)? Any idea? And ... should I want to cut off also the straps, how could I try to fix them in order not to loose the shoes at each step? THanks a lot for any other idea you may like to share!!

Hi there,

Glad you liked the idea, I think you understood exactly what I meant.

Once you'd finished modifying them and removed the straps too, I'd expect them to look a lot like dolly shoe slip ons or mules. If you think, girls manage to wear these with them only really covering their toes and no straps or laces! I guess you keep them on your feet by gripping with your toes :icon_chee

Hi posapiano,

I too love wearing freestyles and princess'. I am glad you enjoy them also. Why not wear them to work? I am not into well worn ones so much but I hope you are enjoying yours.

Regards,
Sarah
