I was out of town for a few days and traveled to a large, east coast city. The weather was warm with occasional rain.

As expected, I only saw one pair of Keds (canvas triples) which looked pretty nice and no Tretorns. Also as expected, I saw a fair amount of AF1's but I'd say the top two most frequently observed were On running shoes and Adidas Sambas. The latter really seem to be on the rise this season. Most of the ones I saw were in very good shape and clearly recently purchased.

Out of curiosity, I looked for reviews and there were many complaining about how uncomfortable they were. The lack of arch support, stiff sole and elongated tongue bother girls' ankles were the chief complaints.

Has anyone noticed their recent rise in popularity? Thoughts on this brand/model of sneaker?
