What is up with the group of girls with the star signs wearing red chucks? I noticed their shirts say "The Converse Years" Is this a play or dance group devoted to chucks?

I am pretty sure, the girls with the red chucks on are from Converse college. I think they all get a pair of red converse. They are the converse red devils.
Maybe someone can do a search and find some more.
 
I searched around for the deal with Converse College but couldn't find much else other than they have teams names the "Converse All-Stars".
