Art and Sole – Customized Keds by 24 Canadian Artists and Designers
WORN Fashion Journal, Canada’s only independent alternative fashion publication, pays tribute to the first sneaker, and to the countless wearers who have used Keds’ modest design as a platform for their own creativity. In cooperation with Keds, WORN has offered 24 young designers and artists from across mediums and the country, a pair of fresh, white sneakers and the chance to put their mark on a style icon. They will re-envision, modify, and customize--transforming each pair of shoes from identical copies to original creations. The Art and Sole exhibition showcases their finished work; ordinary objects made extraordinary, proof that even the simplest idea can inspire innovation and take on a life of its own.
