I remember as a kid our mom would take us to this hole-in-the-wall shoe store to buy us sneakers for the summer. The store was a discount shop and shoes were piled everywhere on shelves and in boxes. The girls' sneakers were Keds, except that they had the Keds rubbed off even though the blue label was still there and of course the insole had the same markings. It was yellow and blue as I recall and had words to the effect of "cushioned arch support."

Anyway, these were obviously either irregulars, factory rejects or last year's style.

My sister wanted pointed toed Keds in the worst way and was really disappointed when all she could get was the "old fashioned" round toed version.

I had no opinion at the time, but I prefer the rounded toe since they are most like the Keds I grew up with.
