Received an email from keds.com today promoting the new simple stripes shoes. There are two styles but I noticed they both had 5 eyelets instead of 4 like most women's Champions. So they are starting to make the women styles look like the mens which is disappointing. I really only like the 4 eyelet women's version.

I actually like that fact - that they're the 5 eyelet. I like both mens and womens Keds Champions - and like them to look similar.

This also has the 'new' classic pebble sole. Two-tone split on the sole, but looks good to me.

I do prefer the black stripe more than the blue - mostly because of the white foxing.

I am also not a fan of that natural rubber foxing. I guess I would rather see men's with 4 eyelets than women's with 5. The last season they made men's Champs in the 1990's, they switched to 4 eyelet. The only women's with 5 eyelets I remember were the RTW in the late 90's.
