Keds is doing a strong marketing campaign in Korea. Their Instagram account is full of videos,…By the pictures I realized that the champions are slightly different so I hired a Korean address and I bought a new pair. As you can see by the pictures they still have that horrible tiny label (perhaps even smaller) but that’s not an issue for me because I usually change it for a bigger one and change the eyelets (I prefer them in white). The pros of the Korean champions are:
1. Thicker canvas.
2. As you can see by the box, size 280 is equivalent to an European 43 (which is more suitable for me. 43 is my size but in Europe and the USA there’s only US11 (eur 42.5) or US12 (eur 44).
3. They are classified as UNISEX (take a look at the box). I do love that classification!!!!!
4. The upper is slightly longer.
5. The navy champions are in just
one color (the seam is in navy too).
6. The insoles are better that the latest “softerra” (Although I thing that they’re going to change it again and follow the Asian insoles. If you take a look at the picture on www.keds.com the insoles are different).

The two last pictures are with the blue label changed and the front label removed. I haven’t changed the eyelets yet (it takes me more time).

How about the soles?
Crappy soles 😢. I tried them on yesterday and despite of the cons I mentioned, the quality of these keds is quite poor.

Damn, you can see the support underneath showing right thru. For the money, Keds has turned into shit. I love the Target Keds and just put padded insoles in them, they are $16 US so I get 3 pairs vs bullshit Keds. Keds are way too narrow, the foxing comes undone from the canvas WAY too fast, the top of the shoe doesn't come up far enough on the foot, and just overall POOR quality! It sucks that all Keds cares about these days is getting cheaply made and increasing the price. Really sad as Keds from the 1990's and before were AMAZING!

How do you change the eyelets?

I use the tools in the picture. It’s quite easy and I usually use the eyelets that I remove from my old keds.
One other issue with the current keds is that top is too low. In order to balance this problem I lengthen the tongues. It’s not noticiable as you can see.
