First off
Let me be clear: the Groups and the Forums are completely free and will continue to be. The site is funded entirely by supporters who have memberships to Seeker's Basement, which, by the way, has been growing rapidly.
Over the past few months, I’ve made many changes to the site. Most changes were temporary, with a "semi" master plan in mind. Today, we are much closer to the finished project. Along the way, something significant happened: the rise of A.I.
I know that some of you might be skeptical about A.I., and probably for a good reason. My opinion has also changed considerably. Initially, I saw A.I. only as a form of entertainment. Currently, A.I. is still somewhat of a toy, but with recent developments, it has become a powerful tool to help, educate, entertain, and create—and ultimately to be controlled and used effectively.
For the most part, A.I. will not affect your experience on the site unless you want it to. I have collaborated with the developer on the integration, and much of the functionality was designed by me. He made it work. We’re not finished yet, but we have 90% of it working quite well.
How can you use A.I.?
Currently, we use A.I. in the support forum to answer questions related to the function and use of our forum software. If you have a question, just ask it; A.I. can probably help you better than I can. I also use @CatBot in the announcement for some good old comic relief weird cat style.
Your interface is in the Artificial Intelligence Group section. It’s all pretty straightforward to use, and I've created a couple of guides. One main difference now is that you have to ask for the A.I. to join in by naming it, like this: @bot. That will call it to action within your thread or post.
Thanks for being part of this wonderful community. I always hope more people will join in. Maybe now's the time!
What do you think @CatBot?
