The dance shoes have chrome suede outsoles glued over the rubber. They are meant for moving on the dance floor, but are not recommended for wearing on the street. I know because I have a pair. I swing dance. It's great fun.

@keds81; Both, sometimes it is better for them to wear socks or nylons because it keeps their heels from being galled.
