"Keds have about three lives"
It didn't used to be that way. I remember washing my first ex' s '80s and '90s Keds many times with no damage.
Well, the blue ones would fade a little over time with repeated washings. Maybe the red ones, too, but she didn't wear the red ones very often. But I know full well we washed her white ones 15-20 times over their life without any worry.
They definitely don't make them like they used to. But I still love them just the same.
