Anyone have any memories of seeing girls at the beach wearing Keds? I know I've seen that in a few movies and a couple times in real life.

The soft, loose sand is difficult to walk with shoes on as the sand will get in easily. Some beaches though have more of a compact sand where wearing sneakers is not difficult.
 
Great topic! I had a great sighting mid 2000’s with some white leather Keds Champions! Saw her walk out with them on and saw her take them off. They were in plain view in front of her too once she took them off! Loved it!
 
Yes, used to wear Keds at the beach, sand got everywhere and seemingly no matter how hard I tried, there was always sand in the shoes for the next 6 months. So annoying.
